The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA) awarded its 2025 Nap Gary Legacy Award for Lifetime Achievement in the ASC Community to Kathy Wilson, RN, former executive director of the ASCQC. The award was presented by David Shapiro, MD, during the ASCA 2025 Conference & Expo in Denver, Colorado.
Wilson led ASCQC from 2021 to 2025, overseeing all organizational operations and advancing initiatives focused on safety, quality, and data-driven improvement in ambulatory surgery centers. Her work included collaboration with federal agencies on quality measure development and education for ASC stakeholders on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) ASC Quality Reporting Program. Prior to ASCQC, Wilson served as vice president of quality at AMSURG and held senior clinical leadership roles at HCA Healthcare.
Wilson joins a distinguished group of past recipients whose contributions have helped shape quality and safety in ASCs.
